FAQ

How many people can be in a swap?
Lots and lots. As long as we have as many people in the club as blocks per month you will always get as many different blocks back. No matter how many people we have in the club you will only have to make the designated blocks per month.

Can I start later?
Yes, you can start at any time as long as you make the designated blocks per month. You can skip a month, but try not to, and you can unsubscribe at any time. You’ll be missed if you have to unscubscribe, so try not to.

I want more blocks! Can I make more?
Yes, you can many as you would like back. You will receive the same number you make in return, however, you may receive duplicates.

Should I make an extra of my blocks so I can have my own?
Yes, you should make an extra block to keep for yourself.

I have lots of scraps. Do all of the blocks I make need to be the same?
No, they don’t have to be the same. Use up your scraps, but keep the theme and color scheme the same.

When are the blocks due?
The blocks are due at Tranquility on the 1st of the month.

When can I expect to receive my swapped blocks?
The blocks are swapped and mailed back on or before the 10th of the same month.

Why would I want 7 squares?
Normally, you wouldn’t want 7 squares, unless you use one as an accent such as a pillow and the quilt was for a child. In today’s busy environment, not everyone can commit to 12 blocks but s/he wants to particpate. 7 is a minimum number.

Does this block swap end at the end of 12 months and I will have 7 quilts?
No, this isn’t the ‘normal’ block swap. You have the potential of making 1 scrappy quilt a month. If you want a sampler quilt, you could participate for 12 months, make 7 different squares all with different colors and end up with 7 quilts at the end. The swap is monthly and controlled by the participants.

How is the swap controlled by the participants/members?
Let me know how you want it to run, and consider it done. If the group wants a traditional 12 month swap, we can do that too.
